Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Milam County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a query indicates agreement with every term below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This private website is not connected with a government agency and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither its content nor linked search services may be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

Milam County Criminal History is an independent reference resource. It neither holds official records nor acts for Milam County or Texas. We cannot perform an official check, retrieve a file, certify a copy, or submit paperwork for a user.

Content directs readers to the Sheriff, District Clerk, County Clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and relevant city offices. Some pages also connect to tools operated by outside companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Users must act lawfully and may not:

  • Violate federal, Texas, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass a person
  • Use information for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to a system or account
  • Run scrapers, bots, or other automated extraction tools
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached through this website may not be used to harm, threaten, shame, discriminate against, or organize vigilante action against anyone. This restriction is especially important for Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information. The registry exists for public safety and community awareness, and Texas law prohibits misuse of its data.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We do not create credit reports, background reports, or consumer reports and are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Users agree not to apply content or linked results to:

  • Hiring, firing, or another employment action
  • Rental, housing, or tenant decisions
  • Credit, lending, or insurance eligibility
  • Licenses, benefits, or other decisions governed by consumer-reporting law
  • Any additional FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally compliant check must be obtained from Texas DPS or another provider authorized for the intended use.

5. No Legal Advice

Explanations of Milam County records and Texas law are general information, not legal advice. They do not form an attorney-client relationship. A licensed Texas lawyer should address how a charge, warrant, expunction, nondisclosure order, or filing rule applies to a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

The website and its content are supplied on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness, merchantability, and uninterrupted availability. Agency procedures, fees, hours, and databases may change after publication.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External portals, advertising partners, and search providers control their own products, results, charges, terms, and privacy rules. We are not responsible for a destination's availability or conduct. Following a link or submitting information to an outside service is the user's choice.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, branding, and code on Milam County Criminal History belong to their respective owners and are protected by applicable law. No material may be reproduced, republished, altered, or distributed without authorization, except where law permits limited use.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the site, inability to use it, reliance on its content, or interaction with an outside service. This includes loss caused by a stale record, mistaken identity, unavailable portal, or changed government procedure.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the website and its operators from claims, costs, liabilities, or expenses resulting from that user's unlawful conduct, breach of these terms, or misuse of site content or linked information.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Texas Public Information Act governs access to many official government records, and Government Code Chapter 411 regulates criminal-history dissemination. Any dispute over use of this private website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms when the service, law, or operating practices change. A new version becomes effective when posted. Continued use after publication indicates acceptance of the revised language.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or ended, with or without advance notice, when a user violates these conditions, threatens the service, or creates legal or security risk. Any obligations that logically survive termination remain in force.

14. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only as needed. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page. Government record questions should be sent to the Milam County or Texas office that maintains the document.
